Information you give us

Your name, email address, phone number, and anything you tell us in an enquiry — your event type and date, venue, styling ideas and budget. If you go on to book, we also collect the items you select, your hire dates, delivery and collection addresses, and venue access details.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website we collect technical and usage data, including your IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, time spent, referring website and links clicked. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies — see section 4.

Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from social media platforms when you interact with our pages or ads, and from advertising and analytics providers in aggregated or de-identified form.

We collect personal information directly from you — through our website enquiry form, our online booking system, email, phone and social media — and automatically through cookies and analytics when you browse the site.

Occasionally we receive details from a third party, such as a planner, stylist or venue arranging a hire on your behalf. If you give us someone else's details, please make sure they are aware of this policy.

We use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries and prepare quotes
• confirm, manage and fulfil hire bookings
• arrange delivery, setup, pack-down and collection
• process deposits, balances and any charges under our Terms & Conditions
• communicate with you about your booking
• operate, analyse and improve our website and services
• measure the performance of our advertising
• keep business records and meet our tax and legal obligations
• resolve disputes and enforce our Terms & Conditions

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. Some are necessary for the site and booking system to work; others help us understand how the site is used and how our advertising performs.

Google Analytics 4

Collects data about how visitors find and use our site, including pages viewed, session duration, approximate location and device type. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Meta Pixel (Facebook & Instagram)

Records actions you take on our site, such as viewing a page or submitting an enquiry. We use this to measure our advertising and to show relevant ads to you and to similar audiences on Meta platforms. Meta's handling is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.

Booking cookies

Our booking system uses functional cookies to hold your selections, dates and session while you complete a booking.

Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking them may stop parts of our site and booking system from working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings, and use your device's tracking controls to limit ad personalisation.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business, including with:

• Shopify — hosts our website and processes enquiry form submissions
• Booqable — runs our hire bookings, availability and checkout
• Stripe — processes payments through Booqable. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our systems
• Google and Meta — analytics and advertising, as described above
• Delivery and setup personnel, including contractors engaged to deliver, set up or collect your hire items
• Venues — limited logistics details where required to arrange access
• Professional advisers and insurers where reasonably required
• Regulators and law enforcement where required or authorised by law

We do not currently send marketing emails. If we introduce them, we will only send them where you have opted in, or where you are an existing client and the message relates to services we have provided. Every marketing message will include an unsubscribe link.

You can opt out at any time by emailing info@bisouvintage.com.au. Opting out will not stop essential messages about a booking you have with us.

Several of the platforms we rely on — including our website, booking, payment, analytics and advertising providers — store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe.

By providing your personal information you consent to it being disclosed to overseas recipients on this basis. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate data protection commitments, but we cannot guarantee that overseas recipients are bound by Australian privacy law.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include restricting access to those who need it, using reputable platforms with their own security controls, and leaving card processing with Stripe rather than storing card details ourselves.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as the law requires. Booking and financial records are generally retained for at least seven years to meet Australian tax and record-keeping obligations. Enquiries that do not proceed to a booking are removed or de-identified once they are no longer needed.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Email info@bisouvintage.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first.

There are limited circumstances in which we may decline a request. If we do, we will tell you why in writing.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at info@bisouvintage.com.au with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it promptly.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Our website links to third-party sites and social media platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing personal information.

Our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated. Material changes take effect when published.
